The Luis Tapia Artist Book project, is the work of author and museum exhibit curator, Carmella Padilla, adding to her legacy of telling the story of Northern New Mexico. Mr. Tapia is a sculptor working in his field for 45 years, creating work reflecting contemporary Chicano life in New Mexico. Although Mr. Tapia’s work is in a number of private collections, as well as museums including the Smithsonian, this will be the first book dedicated to his long career.

NMCF supports this project’s goals to educate New Mexico students of all ages about diverse cultural heritage of the region and inspire New Mexico youth of all cultural backgrounds to follow their own creative paths.
