Some of the photos of students and faculty from Native American Preparatory School

After closure of the former Native American Preparatory School in Rowe, NM (1995-2002), New Mexico Community Foundation was asked to create an endowment fund, later to be called the Native American Preparatory Scholars (NAPS) Fund. The NAPS Fund was created with the goal of increasing the number of New Mexico Native American students graduating from college or university.

NMCF has recently received a box of hundreds of photos of NAPS students participating in school activities and graduations, as well as some photos of faculty. We would love to be able to give these memories back to former students and faculty.  Please contact Renee Villarreal at reneev@nmcf.org if you have an interest in reviewing and taking some of the photos.  NMCF is also now the repository for the NAPS student and faculty records in case you need to access transcripts or information.

Stay tuned later this year for grant making opportunities through the NAPS Fund to support retention and higher education programs benefiting Native students!
