This December come to the National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC) for shows and shopping that will get you in the holiday spirit!

On Dec. 2-3, the Winter Spanish Market will take place at the NHCC. Shop authentic 400-year- old traditional and innovative Spanish Colonial style artwork made by New Mexico artists. In addition, you can see Santa Fe Opera’s Shoes for the Santo Niño on Dec. 1-2. This is a joyous story of Julianita, the youngest of eleven children, who slips out of her home one evening to take a pair of “practical” shoes she has made to the Santo Niño de Atocha. When she enters the church, the Santo Niño and the saints come to life, and Julianita is whisked off into an evening of mystery, magic, and miracles.

Participate in a day of family art-making on Dec. 2 at ¡Vamos al Museo!, enjoy a panel discussion and book signing for Borderless: The Art of Luis Tapia in the NHCC Art Museum, and stay for the opening reception of the exhibit The Art of Christmas: New Mexico Style featuring more than 430 ornaments collected over the years by the Duran family. And don’t miss the Nutcracker Ballet in the Land of Enchantment by Festival Ballet Albuquerque, with choreography by Patricia Dickinson Wells, Dec. 15-17.
