Española Community Market Cooperative (ECMC) is a member-owned food market whose mission is to provide high quality, natural, and organic products at the lowest prices possible for the Española community. The market also provides information to this community about the economic and social benefits of co-ops. ECMC has approximately 200 members.
Last year alone, ECMC paid almost $20,000 to 42 Española Valley farmers and food processors for fresh, canned, frozen, or dried fruits, fresh vegetables, dairy products, eggs, honey, bread, pastries, and meats, among other items. ECMC also paid six regional suppliers of organic, natural or gluten-free comestibles.
ECMC is seeking funding for four programs that will greatly enhance their ability to serve the region’s low-income families and increase efficiency of their operations and equipment. Click here to learn more and donate.
NMCF’s fiscal sponsorship program makes it possible for community projects without 501c3 status to use NMCF’s nonprofit umbrella to raise funds for a charitable purpose. Click here for more information.
