Congratulations to Bloomfield High School senior, Sunshine Tso, who was recently selected as the first recipient of the 505 Southwestern® / New Mexico True Scholars scholarship.

The scholarship was established in 2017 to recognize a student who has a passion for the future of agriculture in New Mexico. It is a partnership between Flagship Food Group’s 505 Southwestern® brand and New Mexico True, the state’s tourism marketing brand.

Tso lives near the Navajo Nation in northwestern New Mexico and has been involved in 4-H and Future Farmers of America over the years. She plans to attend New Mexico State University, where she will major in Agricultural and Community Development.

One student will be selected to receive the $5,000 scholarship each year. Applicants must be New Mexico high school seniors who plan to attend college or university in the state. They must also demonstrate a commitment to making an impact in the agricultural industry or economy of food and agriculture in New Mexico.

NMCF manages the scholarship, and the application for 2019 opens in September. Click here to learn more.
