NMCF is excited to welcome New Mexico Writers Scholarship as the latest fiscal sponsorship partner! This organization annually awards one or more scholarships to New Mexico-based authors of all ages and writing genres. The scholarship is intended to nurture new authors and encourage voices that reflect the true diversity of the state. This scholarship can be used to support the recipient’s work as needed, including tuition for a writing-related program or mentorship, travel, research costs, special equipment, or time to work on a project without a day job.

Founded by several published authors, New Mexico Writers Organization holds an annual dinner in the spring to raise money for the scholarship fund and celebrate the literary arts in New Mexico. Open to writers and their fans, the dinner offers a chance for authors—established and aspiring—to make connections and hear from some prominent literary voices.

Submissions are due September 1, 2018. Awards in the range $500-$2,000 will be made later in the fall, and the recipients will be honored at the annual dinner in spring 2019.
