505 Southwestern®/New Mexico True Scholars is a scholarship program founded in 2017 to recognize passion and commitment to pursue higher education and make a positive impact on the agriculture industry in New Mexico.  The scholarship program is a partnership between Flagship Food Group’s 505 Southwestern® brand and New Mexico True, a campaign of the state Tourism Department.

One recipient for the $5,000 scholarship is selected annually. The scholarship is awarded in equal payments over four years of undergraduate study.

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must: be graduating seniors of a New Mexico high school; plan to attend an accredited college or university in New Mexico beginning fall 2018 and be enrolled full time; have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in their first six semesters of high school; have completed a FAFSA application for the upcoming college year; and demonstrate a commitment to making an impact in the agricultural industry and/or overall economy of food and agriculture of New Mexico.

You must register on NMCF’s online portal to begin the application. Please go to our portal here to register as a scholarship applicant. Once you register, you can go to the login page here to begin your application. The application can be located under the “Scholarship Applicant” menu, then under “Find Scholarships.” Please note that you can save your application and come back to it anytime. Please make note of the required documents that will need to be attached before submitting your application.
