First American Bank Scholarships

SMALL ACTION, BIG IMPACT Your statewide partner in philanthropy for 34 years

The 2017 First American Bank Scholarship application is now open. See below for online link.

The scholarship was established in 2012 to help graduating seniors from Chaparral High School realize their educational goals and dreams. The mission of the scholarship is to increase student graduation rates, establish partnerships with higher education institutions, and give students and families the ability to afford a college education.

The scholarship allows eligible Chaparral High School students to attend college or university and have a significant portion of their education paid for through this fund, New Mexico Lottery and other financial awards.

Scholarship applications will be accepted only from current Chaparral High School seniors who are U.S. citizens (or U.S. residents) and have been accepted to an accredited college or university. Additionally, applicants must have attended Chaparral High School for at least three years, completed a FASFA for the upcoming year, and have maintained a GPA of at least 3.0 through their first seven semesters of high school.

Extra consideration may be given to students who have taken honors classes and/or Advanced Placement classes. FAB scholarship awards are considered last-dollar aid and applied to a student’s bill after all other financial aid is awarded. This spring, 20 Chaparral High School graduates will be selected to receive the scholarship.

The 2017 application is available online. DEADLINE IS APRIL 7, 2017 at 5 pm.
